The simple answer is yes but not with your standard blinds. There are some with tracking systems down the sides and a pelmet at the top that blocks about just about all the light. With standard Roller Blinds there are gaps of about 2cm each side as well as the bleed through light at the top. This can be reduced with under rolling the blind in the recess to get it closer to the glass. Some windows don’t allow this so we fit on the outside and make the blinds wider, higher and longer than the actual window. All windows are different so an in home consult is the best way to get the right advise.
Not all blinds give privacy all the time. With a sheer or sunscreen blind they give day time privacy only. When the lights are on at night everyone can see straight in. It is where ever the greatest source of light is that can be seen. Blockout blinds do give privacy if well fitted.
Ready-made blinds may not fit correctly. The tubes used are only 25mm where our custom made blinds have a 43mm tube on a small blind and a 43mm high density on a larger blind this prevents sagging and bowing. The 25mm controllers break very easily. All our controllers and brackets are of the highest quality and built to last. With a large blind we also use a helper spring to make the blind easier to lift. The fabrics we use are nicer as well and a heavier bottom bar that holds the blind in place so it doesn’t curl up. Custom made blinds are still cost effective and are more value for money because they are made to last.
